Harden defences

by rewriting part of the operating system so that the phone will use the contents of the Secure Enclave as a key rather than a software key.

Secured Device Passcode

Apple has made the passcode more secure by providing a 6-digit passcode instead of 4. For an iPad, a 6-digit passcode is a must to unlock the device.

Anti-phishing and spam filters

A new policy which requires a passcode to be entered to re-enable the device after an incorrect passcode entry. This feature will help prevent anyone from accessing your iPhone or iPad without permission.

USB Restriction Mode

A feature which is enabled by default on all supported devices and prevents data transfer via the Lightning port after 7 days of inactivity.

Advanced Fraud Protection

Apple Card users can have a security code that changes regularly to make online Card Number transactions more secure.
